Google+ Adds: Say Thank You Option in Search Results

Google + has added a Thank You option into the Search Results.

Appearing in the search results we are now provided with an option to say, Thank You, to the people who have +1′d your page that appears in the search results.

In this screenshot, I have a post on UK Google plus brands, where i have the option to Thank Lyndon. Below this is my home page where i have 2 new +1′s on the page and I have been given the option again to thank them for taking the time to +1 my page.

Once you click Thank You, a pop up appears with standard text, but you can change the text if you choose to.

And now I have changed the standard +1 message, Thanking them for +1′ing my page. After all they are helping to promote my site to their circles.

I love this feature, it is what Social media is all about, sharing and now Thanking people for taking the time to show their appreciation.

It will be intersting to see in the near future how much this information gets used. The SEO value of +1 has been clear for a while in that, for those in your circles, you can propel your page higher up the results than it would otherwise appear, and give the page a personal recommendation. So if you haven’t tried playing with +1 already, get clicking!
